Mobile Media Project

The communication arts department at the Lebanese International University is debuting a collaboration program with the media communications department at the Webster University in Leiden the Netherlands.

The collaboration project will take the form of a common course "mobile media RATV316", that include 8 students from LIU and * students from Webster university, the Dutch students will visit Beirut for 10 days in April, they will stay in LIU / Beirut campus and will work closely with Lebanese students that would, by their turn, visit Leiden for 10 days and work with their fellow colleagues in the Netherlands.

The course is an exploration of new video technologies involving digital photography and portable video production, post-production and broadcast. It is a study of streaming media for distribution on "hand-held" devices, "vidcasts" or "Podcast".

At the Lebanese International University (LIU), a group of students have made it their objective to raise awareness on their campus about society’s problems. On Saturday, the members of LIU’s “Talaba” club completed the last stage of a seven-day journey that took them to some of the poorest regions all across Lebanon.

Mr. Anwar Kawtharani appointed Chairman of English Department

LIU would like to congratulate Mr. Anwar Kawtharani, the newly appointed chairman of English Department. One of the oldest schools in the Lebanese International University, the School of Education and English will be undergoing huge changes in the coming months. Mr. Kawtharani says that for change to take place in the departments, its elements must be present. They are vision, resources, skills, incentives, results, and an action plan.
