New Strategic Partnership between the Lebanese International University and the British Council in Lebanon

The Lebanese International University and the British Council in Lebanon signed a new strategic partnership on Thursday, May 19, 2016 during Beirut’s 5th Education Day. This in line was a form of commitment to work on enhancing LIU’s testing and professional development all while cementing the notion of IELTS and APTIS English Language Exams and exploring international higher education opportunities by the UK higher education sector. The partnership was endorsed by LIU’s Vice President, Dr. Samir Abou Nassif, and Director of the British Council in Lebanon, Ms. Dona McGowen, all under the patronage of the UK ambassador to Lebanon, Mr. Hugo Shorter.

Working in partnership and sharing their expertise, LIU through the School of Education and the British Council will provide a coherent and responsive service to LIU’s students and the Higher Education sector. By clarifying the roles and responsibilities of each partner, the strategic partnership will enable both to serve the best interests of the sector and to better enable LIU - and its community in the 9 campuses in Lebanon and abroad in sister campuses.

This partnership with The British Council provides international opportunities and information to facilitate connections and to provide harmony between higher education institutions worldwide. The two institutions will also explore co-commission research reports on international higher education and convene seminars and workshops.
