International Trip – Hospitality and Tourism Department

The Hospitality and Tourism Management Department organized, as a project, an international trip for its students to the city of Istanbul, Turkey from April 20th till April 23rd.

The objectives of the international trip were to allow students to experience the process of tour organization, hotel, airport, and transportation operations organization, and tour program time management.

11 students from 4 different campuses participated in the trip accompanied by Mr. Omar Shehab, Hospitality & Tourism Management Department Coordinator. The participating group worked out a program of their own. They visited many cultural, historical, natural, industrial, and shopping sites around the clock in the city of Istanbul and the city of Bursa.

Furthermore, on Monday April 23rd, students were invited to VATEL Hospitality Management School in Kadir Has University - Istanbul, where they were introduced to the dual degree program agreement between the LIU & VATEL and toured the university facilities with the School director Mrs. Banu Kirmaz.

After their return to Beirut, the participating students met the Dean of the School of Business, Dr. Farid Abdallah and expressed their happiness in taking part of the trip especially that for the majority of them this was their first trip abroad. The students showed interest in organizing other trips, and requested that the international trip would be on the annual agenda of the hospitality and tourism management department.
