School of Business_ Akkar: ESP 3rd Workshop: Emotional Intelligence for Workplace Success

The third ESP workshop, Emotional Intelligence for Workplace Success, was held on Friday, December 7th 2018, at Akkar campus between 9:00 and 15:00.

The workshop was given by Ms Marwa Tlayjeh and Ms. Yasmine Taleb

The workshop started with the coaches asked the students to draw a tree and at the roots level write things they were chosen for them, at the trunk level write their personal choices while the leaves represented their achievements.

After that the students were asked to draw how they perceive themselves and how they think others see them; students presented and explained their drawing in front of the class. A video was used to define emotional intelligence and how it affects people’s lives.

The next exercise aimed to find the personality of each of the students based on how they answered some test questions; the different results were based on the different combinations of the different constructs: (Extrovert, Introvert), (Intuitive, Sensing), (Thinking, Feeling), and (Judging, Perceiving).

After that a role playing exercise was conducted where students were asked to act a conflict and its resolution. Each group’s performance was evaluated by other groups as well as the coaches.

Finally, students were asked to evaluate the experience and coaches read out loud the anonymous evaluations.
