For the second year in a row, the MATH program at LIU achieved first rank in Lebanon in the Scimago Institutions Ranking for 2022. Three indicators were adopted in the ranking: Research, Innovation, and Societal Impact.

The Communication Arts Department is proud to announce the great achievement of our RATV student Anwar Nadreen who won multiple film awards for his short movie “OVER 18”. A 17-year-old girl who discovered through an intruder that she had been imprisoned in a closed room since her birth by a paranoid man and has not seen anything from the outside world, plans her escape. The awards achievements of our students were as follows:

  • "Best Actor" Eurasia International Monthly Film Festival "Russian Federation"

Outstanding results in the nutrition colloquium

In 2022, LIU Nutrition students achieved outstanding results in the official colloquium exam. The results of our students were as follows:

  • 86% of our students passed the exam
  • Two of our students scored the 2nd highest grade
  • Two of our students scored the 3rd highest grade

LIU winners receive recognition from Huwaei ICT

LIU winners receive recognition from Huwaei ICT

The Huawei ICT held a national exam and competition for Lebanon to encourage creativity among students by bridging the gap between learning in the classroom and future employment opportunities. A total of eleven universities participated in the national rounds. Among the top 18 students were six from the School of Arts and Science, majoring in computer science at LIU. LIU students were recognized by Huawei for their performance in the national and regional competition. Zayn AlAbedine Harb ranked 3rd in the national exam, while Joumana Alhajjar ranked 2nd in the national competition and she joined Lebanon team for the Regional Competition in Muscat, Oman. The winners were awarded certificates and prizes by Huawei ICT representatives, Dr. Mohamad Sharara and Ms. Fatima al Hashash, in the presence of the Dean Dr. Tarek Harb, and the Chairperson Dr. Alia Ghaddar.
