British Council - Lebanon


LIU represented by the Vice President Dr. Samir Abou Nassif and the British Council Country Director Donna McGowan have announced a joint initiative and partnership. The event was attended by the President of LIU, Mr. Abdul Raheem Mrad, and the UK Ambassador representative Mr. Ben Wastnage. Dr. Abou Nassif described the agreement with the British Council as a 'strategic partnership'. On the other hand, Ms. Donna McGowan said, 'This agreement will help shape and drive international collaboration for higher education.' This agreement includes delivering English language courses to Syrian students. These courses are funded by the British Council and HOPES/HEEPS. In addition, the MoU included the establishing of an IELTS offsite testing venue in LIU.
