OIR Awareness Session
On September 12, the Office of International Relations held an awareness session with around 100 participants. The director of the office, Dr. Anwar Kawtharani, led the meeting, going over the mission and vision of the Office, the procedures to be followed, as well as what the up-coming projects are. The presentation was followed by the launch of the new OIR website and a Q&A session.

UNIMED General Assembly 2022
The 2022 UNIMED General Assembly was held on June 22 and 23 in Jordan, organised by UNIMED in collaboration with the University of Jordan in Amman.
Second on stage was Dr. Anwar Kawtharani, from the Lebanese International University, who presented two papers, outcomes of two research processes guided by UNIMED and sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Visiting lecturers from Tunisia and Lebanon
In June 2022, ISSBS hosted lecturers from Tunisia and Lebanon. They came from three different faculties, namely the Université Antonine, Lebanese International University and the Université Virtuelle de Tunis.
They held lectures at the courses Business English, Business Communication, Skills, and Conflict Resolution and Essentials of Negotiation Skills. The possibilities for Erasmus exchange and participation in projects in the coming years were also discussed with the management of the faculty and the international office.

The Erasmus + MED2IaH national conference was held at the Lebanese International University on March 21st, 2023. Erasmus mobility at Lebanese International University
Between March 28 and April 2, 2022, the ISSBS professors dr. Nada Trunk Širca and external collaborator dr. Majda Naji conducted a 5 day Erasmus mobility for teaching at the Lebanese International University in Beirut.
In addition to lectures at the partner institution, the content of the mobility was also:
– insight into current educational, research, and internationalization activities at LIU,
– definition of realistic objectives for further cooperation between the institutions and identification of possible cooperation activities for the period 2022-2023 / 2024.
– The international scientific conference MakeLearn & TIIM, the international publishing house ToKnowPress and the academic journal IJMKL were also presented, and
– defined plans for future cooperation and involvement of partners.

Urban Governance in the MENA Region
LIU-SoED participated in the webinar on Urban Governance in the MENA Region Knowledge Transfer between Global North and South hosted by the Technical University of Berlin.
